Article editing and publication stages
It is the responsibility of each of the authors to take into account and comply with the following aspects and criteria associated with the work stages involved in the publication of a scientific article in the Revista Geográfica de Chile Terra Australis, according to the following:
1) ARTICLE SUBMISSION:
- Articles must be submitted and entered into the platform. The journal's editorial team (editors-in-chief) will review whether the manuscript aligns with the editorial line and meets the established requirements, ensuring that it meets the minimum quality standards.
- If the article is approved at this stage, it will proceed to the double-blind review process. Otherwise, the author will be notified of its rejection and the impossibility of continuing in the journal's editorial process.
In summary, what will be evaluated in this first stage is:
- The article aligns with the journal's editorial line.
- The article proposal will be submitted to a plagiarism detection tool and must pass this test.
- The content of the article must be novel in relation to previously published topics and meet the minimum standards required by the journal, including the minimum and maximum length requirements.
- For each article, all authors must submit their identification information, according to the following (it is recommended to review the downloadable article template):
- First Name and Last Name.
- Academic Title.
- Institutional Affiliation.
It is important to note that this information will not be shared with the reviewers (Scientific Committee) of the journal, in compliance with the double-blind peer review process.
The article must adhere to the journal's publication guidelines, following the parameters established in the template.
2) ARTICLE REVIEW:
Once the article has been submitted, it will be evaluated using the double-blind peer review method. At this stage, the journal's editorial team will determine its suitability for publication and, if necessary, will issue observations for its improvement.
3) STYLE CORRECTION:
At this stage, the final formal (style) aspects of the article are corrected by specialist proofreaders, provided that these are sent by the editors-in-chief to each author(s) for their respective acceptance.
4) FINAL DECISION:
At this stage, each author(s) is informed of the final decision made regarding their publication and the volume and issue in which their article will be included, if positive.
5) FINAL PRODUCT AND PUBLICATION:
In this final stage, the editors-in-chief will send the authors the final version of the article, with its corresponding layout, for their approval. The content, both in form and substance, published in the journal is the sole responsibility of the authors. Once publication has taken place, no modifications can be made.
